Top Navigation and Maps Apps on Android in Sweden: Q4 2024

In the final quarter of 2024, the landscape of navigation and maps applications on the Android platform in Sweden revealed interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, several apps stood out in terms of downloads and active user engagement.

Google Earth saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, starting at 1.8K at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at 2.5K towards the end of November. Active users experienced a decline initially, from 17.9K to 13.7K, before recovering to 16.7K by the end of December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained consistent download numbers, starting at 1.8K and reaching 2.2K in late October. Despite a dip in downloads to 1.3K in December, active users remained robust, peaking at 38.6K mid-quarter before settling at 32K at year's end.

The Swedish app My map experienced a steady decline in downloads from 1.7K to 661 by the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at 20.5K and decreasing to 12.9K.

Muslim Prayer - Qibla Compass showed significant growth in downloads, rising from 715 to a peak of 1K in mid-December. The active user base followed a similar upward trajectory, increasing from 1.9K to 2.3K. Revenue for this app was minimal, with a few spikes in early and late December.

Finally, Google Maps Go had modest download numbers, starting at 499 and showing a slight increase to 569 by the end of December. Active users consistently grew from 4.2K to 4.8K over the quarter.
